True to name, rebuy tournaments give you an opportunity to rebuy into a game to continue playing in a tournament after you have been busted out. It's a fun variation on standard tournament play and you end up with larger prize pools!
How it works
Rebuy tournaments will always have a rebuy period at the start of a tournament. The length of this period can vary from tournament to tournament. Usually, but not always, there will be a limit on the number of rebuys you can have.
Players purchase a rebuy using play chips and the cost is the same as the tournament's buy-in. When you rebuy, you get more chips added to your stack, and the amount is usually the same as the number of starting chips. The amount paid by the player goes directly to the tournament's prize pool, without any fees being collected.
When can you rebuy?
When you have the starting stack amount or less, you can rebuy. You can also rebuy when you get busted out. If you still have rebuys, you will have the option to rebuy (or double rebuy) back into the tournament.
How do you rebuy?
By manually clicking on the "ADD CHIPS" button at the top of the game table. This option is available when you reach a certain threshold of chips, which is identified in the tournament details.
Double rebuy
When you still have enough rebuys and you've just been busted out, you have the option to double rebuy. For double the price you get double the chips.
Add-on
The add-on is offered at the end of the rebuy period, during the rebuy break. Unlike rebuys, players can only add-on once per tournament. Another difference between rebuys and add-ons is that they're not limited by the amount of chips you have. You can add-on even if you're the leader of the tournament.
Add-ons are usually the same price as rebuys, but you get more chips.
