There are three types of situations that will trigger this warning about flooding the chat to be sent while chatting at a table:
- A player enters 5 or more messages in a 5 second period.
- A player enters 4 or more of the same message in a 10 second period.
- A player may be holding down the shift key on their computer, so the system thinks that an entry is being made continuously.
If you enter an excessive number of messages in a short period of time, it's considered flooding the chat. This is generally looked down upon because it is distracting and can cause players to miss important messages from the dealer as well as what other people at the table are saying.
