What is a breached password?

In our password guidelines, we require that you use a password that has not been involved in a breach. This refers to a password that was involved in a data breach on another website outside of Replay Poker.

When you enter your password, we automatically authenticate it against a database of known leaked passwords on the internet. You can even check this yourself!

To see whether your e-mail address is registered with any websites that had a data breach, visit https://haveibeenpwned.com/

To see whether a password you want to use has been leaked on the internet, visit https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords

For example, many people use the word "password" as their password, which is common and risky. If you type "password" into the search box, you'll get the following message:

You definitely shouldn't use that as a password!

Anyone attempting to gain control of your account can repeatedly attempt to use leaked passwords, so it's important that you choose a password that isn't on this list.
